Matthew Williamson never fails to delight and his recent show at London Fashion Week delights yet again. A beautiful use of prints and colour creates the perfect mix of sophistication and boho glamour.
Williamson cites the relaxed glamour of David Bailey's shots of Marie Helvin in Chasing Rainbows as his inspiration for this collection.
"The collection evokes the carefree attitude of a long, hot summer. A
distinct femininity and sense of easy movement underpin the collection’s
soft, languid silhouettes. Pleating, drapery and gentle waterfall
ruffles balance the sleek simplicity of laid-back suits accentuated by
the use of diaphanous chiffons, washed silks and butter-soft suede.
Hibiscus flowers and hand-painted palm fronds appear within the prints,
whilst batik and Ikat-inspired prints add a graphic element" http://www.matthewwilliamson.com/mw-daily/11918/news-spring-summer-2015
