One month to go.....

Christmas is just round the corner now and there are lots of fantastic shopping events leading up to the big day to inspire your gift buying - here are three quite different events that Leoni & Vonk are very excited to be involved in.

First off the rank is the Melbourne French Festival held in the beautiful grounds of Como House

On Sunday we will be at Federation Square at Markit - this designer market is even bigger this year with stalls in the Foyer, Atrium and BMW Edge.

The weekend after -  in perfect time for Christmas shopping - is Melbourne's original POP UP retail event Magnolia Square at Malvern Town Hall now in it's 7th year!

79 days and counting ......Christmas shopping events

October already - can you believe it and the supermarkets are already beginning to fill their shelves with Christmas tat sorry goodies not to mention the yearly emergence of the all sparkling, tinsel grabbing "Christmas Shops" in the Department  Stores. Aghhhhh you may say but there is in fact only 79 days or 1907 hours or 114392 minutes (depending where you are in the world and when you are reading this of course!) until Christmas.

To help you with your Christmas shopping this year we are involved in many gorgeous shopping events which will hopefully make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Magnolia Square

One of our favourite events where specially curated retailers pop up in St Kilda and Malvern Town Hall. Almost a Melbourne institution for style savvy shoppers Magnolia Square is a must for all those looking for something beautifully made and not always available in mainstream shops.

Melbourne French Festival

The beautiful Como House and grounds will again host Melbourne's annual French Festival.Showcasing gorgeous French and French inspired products and food, French entertainment and travel the Festival always has something to delight every member of the family. This year the fun will start on Friday 25 November and continue until Sunday 27 November

Markit Federation Square

The design market to be seen at the growing Markit at Fed Square is now in its second year and is getting better and better at every event. In the words of its founders Markit  "invites you to meet the designers, talk with them about their products and buy something beautiful" Markit is on 27 November from 10am - 5pm.

Spring Has Sprung!

We can hardly believe it is the first day of Spring already and we are looking forward to the warmer weather! All around us signs of Spring are emerging - blossom, flowers and even ducklings at the local park. We love these gorgeous flower photos from Allison Trentelman The colours are stunning and perfectly showcase the simple beauty of the flowers.

Our brand new sterling silver and sea bamboo coral flower necklace also celebrates the emergence of Spring and teamed up with the sterling silver leaf pendant they are a perfect way to embrace the warmer days.

........this stunningly simple and elegant house situated in rural Norfolk in the UK. Designed by David Kohn Architects the house is built within the ruins of a 19th stable block and was kindly bought to us by Yellowtrace

...........the burst of colour from the Anthropologie website (we'd take all these ballet flats!) and Marnie Skillings Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

........these amazing paper dresses and shoes from Danish designer Violise Lunn She specialises in the design of one off pieces of both wearable and unwearable clothing. "Allowing herself to divide her time between these two artforms, the usable and the useless, Violise Lunn lets them feed each other with inspiration. Their origin is the same – to permit dreaminess and the search for perfection. "

Queensland Music Festival

We were asked again this year to design VIP gifts for the Queensland Music Festival which starts this week. We incorporated the Festival's logo into either a sterling silver keyring or sterling silver necklace - the end results looked amazing. Yet again the Festival's programme is varied and far-reaching resulting in a  major cultural and artistic success story with a national and international reputation. QMF aims to transform lives through unforgettable musical experiences.
